David Moyes hopes Everton will soon reach agreement with Marouane Fellaini over a new deal.
The Belgian midfielder signed a five-year deal in 2008 and has been holding talks with the club about extending his stay at Goodison Park.
Moyes said at a press conference: “I think it is very close to getting done.
“I think the chairman and the chief executive have been working on it for a while.
“I’ve been waiting on the good news and hopefully it’s not too far away.
“He has been a really good player for us over the last few seasons and if we can keep him it will be really good.”
