Oh no, we’re in for Philippe ‘Send-him-off’

Everton have confirmed our worst fears – no, not the exit of Joleon Lescott, but the fact they’re in talks with Arsenal over the transfer of Philippe Senderos.

Arsenal seem to be having something of a car boot sale this summer after already selling Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Adebayor to Manchester City.  The same club who are still sniffing around our star defender, Lescott.

Even if the worst happens, and Lescott does make the move to Eastlands – Senderos is nowhere near in the same class as the England international.  We’ve all seen during his time at the Gunners that Senderos is prone to switching off and being out of position at important times.  He could do a job as a squad player at most, but nothing more.

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright told the club’s official site: “We have been negotiating with Arsenal for the transfer of Philippe.

“Nothing has been concluded yet but talks are on going.”
